Pronunciation Polish 13:15

David: All right everyone. It's time for today's pronunciation polish. First up, here is today's phrase. "Most visitors are not permitted in here" ...

We have a couple of points to zoom in on today, so let's jump in. First up is most. The /t/ sound will disappear, most ... most visitors.

All right, this next one, maybe a little difficult for some speakers. It focuses on the /ɑːr/ sound. /ɑːr/ becoms /ə/. visitors are ...

Next up, permitted in ... next, the hear, the /h/ sound becomes very weak.  permitted in here ...

All right, let's put them all together and make the full sentence.

  • Most visitors are not permitted in here.

Great work today.

Ending

Onishi: Hey guys, some people pronounce allow as アロウ.

David: Oh, no.

Roza: Allow is アラウ, and if you say アロウ, people won't understand what you are saying.

David: It kind of, it's like when something hurts, you say, ow, ow, like ouch. It's that sound.

Onishi: Oh, that's a good idea. というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
