Opening

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.

David: And I'm David Evans.

Onishi:

Grasp the Concept
  • I was so surprised that I couldn't say anything.
  • Keep your voice down so you don't wake the baby.
  • I don't think so.

David: Great job.

Practical Usage

There were train delays this morning so I was late for my job. Half of my collages were the same. The situation was so bad that made me take a taxi.

so were ~ の使いどころが分からず、、、^^;

Pronunciation Polish 12:35

Roza: Hey guys, are you ready to practice your pronunciation? So am I. Today's sentence is "I wanted to surprise you, so I haven't told you" ...

Today we'll be covering connected sounds. We'll focus on the sound of the /d/ connected to the /t/ in wanted to as well as the told you. Let's practice them together. Repeat after me.

wanted to ... great work. OK, now let's move on to told you. Repeat, told you ... haven't told you.

All right, let's put some pieces together.

I wanted to surprise you ... so I haven't told you ...

All right, now let's go at natural speed and really feel that rhythm, OK?

  • I wanted to surprise you, so I haven't told you.

One last time.

  • I wanted to surprise you, so I haven't told you.

Hey guys, well you know what? you surprised me with all your progress. Great work.

Ending

But, it never happens to me. I always leave home very early, just in case, there are train delays.

Roza: But, sensei, you don't use the train.

David: You walk here, don't you?

Onishi: Oh, that's correct.

All: Bye.
