Opening
Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.
Chris: Wait, wait, wait …, I’m not ready. Chris McVay here. I’m not ready because I’m just combing my hair.
Roza: You don’t need to do that.
Chris: Oh, because it’s radio, I see.
Ohnishi:

Chris: Well, we always want our textbook to look good and up to now we’ve succeeded. Check it out.
Practice 8:05
Chris: OK guys, are you ready to practice the key sentence? “It can be noisy here at times.” Here we are focusing on “can” expressing a hidden possibility. Usually, it’s not noisy but the possibility of being noisy, it’s always there lurking, hiding, and to express that I also want you to focus on the way we say “can”. We stretch it, so that, it seems like you’re searching for that possibility. Listen again. “It can be noisy here at times.” Not “It can be noisy here at times.” “It can be noisy here at times.” So, with that in mind, let’s practice together. “It can be noisy here at times.”
That’s it. Once more. “It can be noisy here at times.”
Excellent, well done, guys.
lurk = 潜む、潜在する。
Ending
Ohnishi: Hey Chris, have you ever been to a restaurant that charges you fifty dollars for mineral water?
Chris: Well actually, not here but in France, I was really shocked because I went to this upmarket restaurant right on the edge of the river Loire. And when I got the bill, it was about that much for mineral water. And I just went when, “That can’t be right?”
Ohnishi: Chris, take me there.
Roza: Chris, take me there.
Chris: You can both take a hike. Again.
Ohnishi:
All: Bye!
the edge of the river Loire ← これめちゃくちゃ難しかった、、、、ロワール川のほとり、かな。
And I just when ← And I just went ~ だそうです。 ^^
