Opening
Roza: 先生、今日は何の小説書いてるの？
Ohnishi: 今日は英語の本。人魚がやってるジャム屋さんに行ったら、ジャムの量が少なくて怒ったっていう話。
Roza & Chris: タイトルは？
Ohnishi: ザ リトル マーマレード・・・
ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. I’d like to inform you of our new development.
Chris: Hey guys, Chris McVay here. So, what new development?
Roza: Today’s lesson, of course.
Ohnishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Chris: OK guys, are you ready to practice? Today, we are going to focus on the many many adjectives that combine perfectly with to. So, you get used to that rhythm, adjective to verb … adjective to verb, catch that rhythm and you will be great.
Here we go, “I’m ready to go.” “Be careful not to get too tired.”
Roza: Let’s continue, “I’m happy to inform you that ~.” “I’m sorry to inform you that ~.” “I’m willing to give you another chance.”
Chris: OK, and a couple more, … He’s inclined … what, what? … to verb. Here we go, get that rhythm again, adjective to verb, “He’s inclined to waste money.” And the last one, “People are liable to gossip.”
Great job.
Roza: That was excellent.
Ending
Ohnishi: Liable is a very important word, isn’t it?
Chris: Absolutely, it’s used in many different contexts. Ah, one context is when you talk about legal responsibility. What do you think, Roza?
Roza: Yeah, for sure. For example, in contract, it might say, “We are not liable for any damages incurred on the job.”
