Now, Ohnishi-Sensei has given a very complete explanation of how to use these so, we will just focus on repeating some typical example sentences. Then, you can use these as models to make your own sentences … good idea, huh?
Roza: And remember, both Chris and I want you to think in English when practicing.
Chris: That’s true. So, here we go, “You can have both toys.” “You can have either toy.” “You can have neither toy.”
Roza: Let’s continue, “You cannot have both.” “You cannot have either.”
Chris: “Both Tom and Bill are my classmates.” “Either Tom or Bill has to go there.” One last one from me, “Neither Tom nor Bill came to my party.”
Roza: And the last example.
Chris: “I don’t like carrots.”
Roza: “I don’t like them either.” “Neither do I.”
Chris: Great job guys, well done.
Roza: Fantastic.
