Ohnishi: ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。

Roza: ねぇ先生、今日はレッスン151だね。

Ohnishi: それがどうかした?

Roza: 一期一会だよ。ふふふ・・・ This is Akino Roza.

David: And I’m David Evans. When it comes to one fifty one, it just reminds me of alcohol.

Ohnishi: 何それ?

David: Some alcohols are one hundred fifty one proof which means it’s seventy five point five percent alcohol.

Ohnishi: なるほどー、さぁそれでは今週も、がんばっていきましょう。

David: All right, let’s jump to our example sentences. Let’s try.

  • It looks like this is fake.

Roza: Let’s continue.

  • Dave appears frantic.

  • This carpet feels nice and soft.

David: OK, let’s keep in moving.

  • I got the impression that he was lying.

  • He gave the impression that he was hiding something.

Roza: OK, let’s go to our last two.

  • It’s giving me good vibes.

  • He comes across as a good person.

David: I get the impression, you all did a great job.

Roza: Fantastic.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey, it smells fishy around here.

David: Sensei, did you put fish in the microwave again?

Roza: Ah, that was the saba-bento that he was eating earlier.

David: Ah ~.

Ohnishi: Ah, that’s why. というわけで、今日はこの辺で。
