Opening

Onishi: いやぁ今回のダイアログですねぇ、じつはマサミさんはトムと以前付き合ってたんですね。3人は三角関係にあったということを前提に、お楽しみください。

Roza: Yeah, they had some tough times. Akino Roza here.

David: And I’m David Evans. Hey, love triangles are my favorite triangles.

Onishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Grasp the Concept
  • We have to go through with this plan.
  • We talked through an interpreter.
  • We partied through the night.

David: Amazing.

Practical Usage

これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の答えです。

I heard that you are going through hard time. Are you OK? It’s hard to accept the ??? I had this sometimes. But I think you can get through this. Trust me.

Pronunciation Polish 12:35

David: All right everyone, it’s pronunciation polish time, yeah, let’s get into it. First, let’s start with today’s sentence. “We went through some tough times back then” …

All right, there is two areas we are locking on today, let’s zoom in and take a look.

First is the thr in through. Let’s practice this together, OK? /θr/ … directly link that th sound into the r, /θr/, all right, through … we went through …

All right, next is the o in some, nice and short /ə/ sound, OK? some …

It’s easier when you link with other words, OK? through some tough … through some tough times, we went through some tough times, all right, now let’s try that whole sentence together.

  • We went through some tough times back then.

Wow, you are doing a great job. If you listen carefully, you might find other areas where we are using some polish. Listen again, see if you can find them for yourself, by now you are developing a good instinct I think.

Ending

Onishi: Hey David, do you know the way to find a location of something by using triangles?

David: Yeah, I think it’s called triangulation, why do you ask?

Onishi: 三角関係じゃなくて三角測量でした。

Roza: I wish I could find the location of my earphones.

Onishi: というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
