Opening

Hey everyone, Akino Roza here.

Chris: Chris McVay here. Well, I don’t know. I don’t understand any of that. I must have left my brain at home this morning.

“That’s too bad” 4:40

Roza: You also have to be careful how you say it because if you say it in a different way, it could sound sarcastic, like “Oh …, that’s too bad.”

・・・

Chris: … really sarcastic, huh.

Roza: Hey guys, check out the textbook. Don’t worry, it will never say anything rude to you.

Practice 9:22

Chris: OK guys, are you ready to practice? Of course, you are, and today you are going to be happy because we are not doing any dramatical analysis or we want you to do is treat “must have” as one word. And probably the pronunciation would be like “マスタブ”. So, “I must have left it in the club room.” So, マスタブ plus any 過去分詞, any past participle is OK. … “must have gone”, “must have made”, “must have seen”. Just get that rhythm マスタブ plus 過去分詞. Here we go. “I must have left it in the clubroom.” Try?

OK, once more. Must have, must have, must have”, one word, right, in your head … “I must have left it in the clubroom.”

You got it, well done, guys.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey Roza, can you lend me some money?

Roza: Ah, I can but I won’t.

Ohnishi: Oh, I must have asked the wrong person. Hey Chris, can you lend me some money?

Chris: No way.

Ohnishi: I must have asked the wrong person.

Chris: So, why do you need money anyway?

Ohnishi: I don’t need money. I’m just practicing it.

Roza: Hey, don’t worry. I haven’t got your back.

Ohnishi:

All: Bye.
