Opening
Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.
Chris: Hi guys. Chris McVay here. Roza, you can be honest, right? Do I need to go on a diet?
Roza: Yes, you eat as much food as two people.
Chris: I didn’t want an answer, I was just practicing.
Roza: So was I, actually. It’s in the dialog.
Chris: Let’s go!
Roza: You know what guys? Our textbook is as good as Chris’s cooking and that means it’s really good.
Practice 8:35
Roza: OK guys, so now we’ve been doing “as ~ as” for a while, right? But you might think that this key sentence is difficult because it says, “Mom is as good at cooking as you are.” So, it seems a little long. But think of “good at cooking” as one unit, OK? That would help you say it smoothly. So, “good at cooking”, “good at cooking”. Got it? So now you just put it between the “as”es. Let’s practice together. “Mom is as good at cooking as you are.”
One more time. “Mom is as good at cooking as you are.”
Perfect.
“as”es は as の複数形です。
Ending
Ohnishi: Hum, I’m not as good at table tennis as Chris.
Roza: He played for his university.
Ohnishi: Ah, that’s right.
Ohnishi:
All: Bye.
