Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.

Chris: Hi guys. Chris McVay here. You know what? I’ve decided to quit this program.

Roza: Really?

Chris: Roza, you are not supposed to sound happy about it?

Roza: Oh, I mean ah, “Really? Oh that’s too bad …”.

Chris: That’s too late, anyway guys, I’m only joking.

Ohnishi: さぁ、今週も頑張っていきましょう。

Practice 9:25

Chris: So guys, are you ready to practice further this verb put? Let’s get started. Basically, it’s a very simple image of move and place. Move whatever to a place wherever. But today we are going to focus on the fact that it doesn’t have to be a concrete place, a physical place. It’s also used for more abstract types of places. So, with that in mind, let’s practice together.

Roza: And remember, don’t think in Japanese.

Chris: So, here we go the first one, “put him in the beginner group”, try?

So, we are moving him to another place which is just a group, an abstract group. Ones more, “put him in the beginner group”.

Roza: And here is the next example, “put your life at risk”.

One last time, “put your life at risk”.

Chris: And the next one. Are you ready? “put Japanese into English”.

And here is another one, “put my feelings into words”. We’ve got move, move my feelings … into … a concrete place, put my feelings on a table? I don’t think so. “put my feelings into words”, so let’s practice that one together? “put my feelings into words”.

Roza: And finally, the last example. “put the family first”.

Chris: Keep practicing.

Roza: You do it great.

移動する場所は、具体的でなくて抽象的な概念でもオッケー。

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey guys, do you have an experience of having difficulty in putting your romantic feelings into words?

Chris: Well, as you all know, I’m very shy, … guy. So, especially when it comes to love so, I have great difficulty. Roza?

Roza: Well, I also have great difficulty in expressing my feelings, so that’s why I prefer to express my feelings in song.

・・・

Ohnishi: というわけで今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.

ここの … のところ、何か言ってるみたいですがさすがによく分かりません。^^
