Opening

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Speaking of history, I think we are making history with the Radio-Eikaiwa, aren’t we?

Chris: I think you are absolutely spot-on there, Roza. Chris McVay here.

Ohnishi:

“Stonehenge” 3:00

Ohnishi: So, what does henge in Stonehenge mean?

Chris: Roza, you can explain that.

Roza: I can. So, henge is actually a prehistoric circular structure made from stone or wooden monuments.

Practice 9:25

Chris: OK guys, ready to practice? Wow, look at the koalas up in the tree. Huh, I’m looking but I can’t see them. Oh now, I see them. So, could you feel the difference there? Look is out, deliberately looking in one direction, but see is when it comes back to you, into your brain. With that in mind, let’s practice these sentences.

Roza: And remember, think in English.

Chris: Here we go, after me, “Glad to see you.”

Good, another one, “Are you seeing anyone?”

Roza: Next example, “My grandad has seen a lot of changes in his lifetime.”

One more time, “My grandad has seen a lot of changes in his lifetime.”

Chris: OK, let’s keep going. After me, “I saw Mary shoplifting.”

Once more, “I saw Mary shoplifting.”

Good.

Roza: Last one, “Let me see you home.”

Chris: Well done guys.

Roza: I can see you’ve been practicing.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey guys, do you like history?

Chris: Well, oddly enough, the older I get more interested I am in history. Is that weird?

Ohnishi: No, that’s normal, I think. How about you, Roza.

Roza: Well, since I’m so young compared to the two of you, I don’t quite understand that feeling yet. Maybe someday.

Ohnishi:

All: Bye.
