Pronunciation Polish 13:00

Roza: Woo, all right everyone, it's time for my favorite corner, pronunciation polish, yeah. All right, let's take a look at today's sentence. "I work up late for some reason" ...

All right, there are three core concepts here, let's zoom in on each. First is linking work and up, work up ...

All right, next the t, e at the end of late are silent, so let's try, late ...

OK, last up is the o in for and the o in some. These two become that /ə/ sound. They are very short, so let's practice. for ... some ... for some ... for some reason ...

All right, let's put the whole thing together.

  • I woke up late for some reason.

One more time.

  • I woke up late for some reason.

All right, that's fantastic. Great work.

Ending

Onishi: I'm really happy for you.

David: Oh, for me? Did I ...

Onishi: I'm really happy for you.

David: Oh, I see what's going on you.

Onishi: I'm practicing as always.

Roza: David, I'm sad for you.

David: Oh ... , why? did something happen?

Roza: That you had to go through Sensei's practicing again.

David: Ah, yeah, I agree that ...

Onishi: というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
