Opening
Onishi: OK, let's start the lesson. It's not like we have a choice here.
David: Sensei, it's not like we don't want to be here.
Onishi: ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意。講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: This is Akino Roza.
David: And I'm David Evans.
Onishi: というわけで、さっそくはじめていきましょう。
Grasp the Concept
- What's the point of arguing about it?
- We weren't chatting. We were discussing the homework.
- They won't lower the price regardless of how much we negotiate.
David: Good work.
Practical Usage
これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の答えです
At first, I enjoyed the party. Everyone chatted, enjoyed. After that, Lee and Jason started arguing each other. I got awkward with this situation.
enjoyed 使うなら目的語が必要、arguing with each otherにすべき、awkwardは人ではなく雰囲気に使う、だそうな。

Pronunciation Polish 13:30
Roza: Hey guys, well, there is one thing we don't have to argue about. It's the pronunciation polish. Are you ready? Here is today's sentence. "They could have discussed it with us first" ...
We have a few points to go over, but they are already points that you've practiced, so just focus on the repeating and do your best.
First up, it's the weak /h/ the /ə/ sound in have. could have ... They could have.
Now, let's do some linking. discussed it ... with us ... discussed it with us.
And now, for the weakened /t/ at the end of first. first ...
All right, are you ready to put it all together?
- They could have discussed it with us first.
Excellent work guys. Did you have fun?
ちょい自信ないです。
Ending
Onishi: They could have discussed it with us first.
Roza: That was great.
Onishi: Oh yeah, it's tough, right?
Roza: Now, you, David?
David: Well, I didn't know. I was gonna get asked it. You could have discussed it with me first.
Roza: Nice.
Onishi: Oh, good. というわけで、みなさんも練習してみてくださいね。
All: Bye.
どうかなぁ。。。
