ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意。講師の大西泰斗です。

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.

David: And I'm David Evans.

Onishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Grasp the Concept
  • She taught us French.
  • He taught me to swim.
  • Failing the exam taught me a lesson.
  • The staff instructed us to take all our garbage home ourselves.

David: Good work.

Practical Usage

これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の答えです

When I was a child, my father taught me how to ride a bicycle. I had fallen a lot and then he taught me to stand up every time. I think this was the most important thing.

単純な過去形でよくて、get back up の方が自然、だそうです。

Pronunciation Polish 13:00

Roza: All right guys, let's get into our pronunciation practice. Today's sentence is "Aoi has taught me a lot about the Edo period" ...

This sentence is a little bit long and we have a lot of points to cover, but they are all things you've already practiced before. So, just focus on repeating the sound that you hear. Repeat after me.

Aoi has taught me ... a lot about ... the Edo period ... a lot about the Edo period.

All right, are you ready for the full sentence?

  • Aoi has taught me a lot about the Edo period.

All right, how did you do? It might be difficult at first, but keep on practicing and you'll get it.

Ending

Onishi: Hey guys, what's the first thing you usually do when you buy a book?

David: After I buy the book? I don't know, read it? Is there something special I should be doing after buying a book?

Roza: Well, if it's an old book, I smell the book. And then, I just put it on shelf and usually never touch it again.

David: What about you, Sensei?

Onishi: Yeah, open it and smell it.

Roza: えー、おんなじこと?

Onishi: というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
