Practical Usage

これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の答えです

Hi, how's everything? Are you already prepared? There are lots of things to do. This is the schedule.

Pronunciation Polish 13:00

David: OK everyone. Welcome to the pronunciation polish corner. Let's take one phrase from today's lesson and master natural pronunciation. Are you ready? Great. Here is today's phrase.

  • How's it going?

All right. Let's zoom in on a couple of key points. First up, How's + it. Let's join those together. How's it ...

The /t/ sound in it will also disappear. How's it ...

Next up is going. The /ng/ sound is very nasal. It sounds like /ŋ/, going ...

Good work so far, let's put it together.

  • How's it going?

Now, let's try it at natural speed.

  • How's it going?

All right. Don't worry, if it's not perfect the first time. Try it again and again until it feels natural. Great work.

Ending

Onishi: Hey guys, what do you think of today's dialog?

Roza: Oh, well, it was full of very practical sentences, so I think it's a great start to a year of English.

David: I thought the dialog was very natural. I think I've had this conversation before.

Onishi: さぁ、ネイティブスピーカーの自然な英語満載のダイアログ、しっかりと復習してくださいね。というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
