大西先生、デイビッドさん、ろーざさんの英会話部分を書きとってみましょう!(大西先生のギャグもできるだけ書きとります)

Onishi: いやぁ今朝ですねぇ、リビングにふっと言ったらですねぇ、「忙しいから黙ってて」って言われたんですよ。何にもしゃべってないんだよ。そんなにぼくっておしゃべりなのかな。

ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。

Roza: はい、そうです。

Onishi: えー・・・

Roza: Akino Roza here.

David: And I'm David Evans. Well, it's OK. Sometimes you can see a storm coming.

Onishi: それでは、今週もがんばっていきましょう。

Essential Expressions

Your call.

  • Whatever you prefer.
  • It's totally up to you.
  • What would you prefer for lunch - pizza or a burger?

David: Great job.

Practical Usage

これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の作文です

Uh, I can cook either yakisoba or okonomiyaki. There are ingredients for both, it's up to you.

Pronunciation Polish 12:15

Roza: Well guys, we can either practice your pronunciation or we can practice your pronunciation. I'll let you decide. Today's phrase is,

  • It's totally up to you.

As you can tell, it's a pretty short phrase but we have several points to go over. We have the /ə/ sound in It's and the weakened /p/ in up. We also have the pronunciation of totally which is actually my favorite part, so let's start with that.

Repeat after me, totally ... Great.

Now let's add It's ... It's totally ... One more time, It's totally. Great.

OK and now let's practice the rest. up to you ... Full sentence.

  • It's totally up to you.

Great work so far. You ready for natural speed? Here we go.

  • It's totally up to you.

Feel that rhythm and imitate it.

  • It's totally up to you.

One more time.

  • It's totally up to you.

Great work everyone. I'm glad to see your progress. Keep it up.

Ending

Onishi: Hey guys, which do you prefer yakisoba or okonomiyaki, but both taste similar, don't they?

David: I do have very similar seasonings don't they? wow, we combine them, we can have yakisoba and okono... isn't that like ah modern-ki, what's the name of that?

Onishi: Oh, I don't know the name but I love it.

Roza: ソースっね!

Onishi: というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye
