Opening

Roza:

Roza:

Ohnishi:

Roza: Akino Roza here.

Chris: Chris McVay here. Nothing to do with that but Roza, I have to tell you, you have a big stain on your top. Huh, not, sorry. It’s part of the design, isn’t it …?

Roza: Hey!

Ohnishi:

but Roza, I have to tell you ~ のところ、I がほとんど聞こえなくて、but Roza have to tell you ~ のようにも聞こえますね。

Practice 9:50

Chris: OK guys. it’s practice time. This time with the word, on. Now, the basic image of on is contact, touching but I want to stress and highlight what Ohnishi-Sensei has already told you that on is not just from above like on the table … many students think that’s the case. It’s in any direction, OK? So, keep that in mind there as we do the practice today. Here we go, “on my desk”, “on the wall”, “on the ceiling”, “Do you have money on you?” And the similar one, “Do you have your passport on you?” OK, so you can see this is nothing like on the table but it’s the way we use on, it has many different usages. OK Roza?

Roza: Here are some more examples. Now remember to imagine this image of on, right?  “Put some water on your napkin.” “Can I try it on?” “put my tie on”.

Chris: OK, continuing, “get on the bus”, “get on the train”, “get on the plane”, “get on the ship”, and a few more, “He was on a bicycle.” “He was on a motorbike.” “He was on a horse.” That’s for you, Roza.

Roza: And here is the last example, “On hearing the news, she jumped for joy.” One more time, “On hearing the news, she jumped for joy.”

Great job.

Chris: Well done guys, I hope you are all jumping for joy at your successful practice today.

that in mind there we do the practice の真ん中にある there は、自信ないです。→ as ですね。

I hope you are all jumping for joy

Ending

Ohnishi: You know, I never use the phrase, try on.

Roza: Why is that?

Chris: Yeah, why is that?

Ohnishi: Yeah, I don’t go to clothing shops in the first place.

Chris: Ah, so you wear the same cloths every day.

Ohnishi: Yeah, all the year around.

Roza: That’s why you’ve never worn anything new all the time I’ve known you.

Ohnishi:

All: Bye.

you’ve never worn anything new all the time I’ve known you も難しかったですー。
