Opening
Ohnishi:
Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Chris, are you going to stand by me? Isn’t that more important?
Chris: Roza, I will always stand by you as long as you stand by me.
Roza: Of course, I will.
Chris: Chris McVay here.
Ohnishi:
Chris: Well guys, you know what we’ve decided? We’ve decided to stand by you and keep producing a wonderful textbook. Check it out.
Practice 9:00
Chris: OK, it’s practice time. And today is our last practice of by. So, all we are going to focus on is the basic image of closeness, being next to. OK?
Roza: And remember to think in English.
Chris: Here we go, “They were walking side by side.” Get some nice rhythm here, パンパンパン, side by side. OK? With that rhythm, let’s try after me, “They were walking side by side.”
Roza: Here are a few more examples where you should really keep that rhythm as well, “His English is improving little by little.” “step by step”, “day by day”, “one by one”. These are excellent phrases to use.
Chris: OK, last one. “I put $5 by every week for a rainy day.” Hum, good idea, huh? Last chance, “I put $5 by every week for a rainy day.”
Roza: Excellent.
Chris: Good job.
we are gonna focus on と言ってますね。
Ending
Ohnishi: So guys, learning a language is a step by step process, isn’t it?
Roza: Definitely, I think you just have to take it day by day.
Chris: Unfortunately, there is no magic wand …, way of learning a language. So, step by step it is, little by little.
All: Bye.
