Opening

Roza:

Roza:

Ohnishi: 「

Akino Roza here.

Chris: Chris McVay here. I love

Ohnishi:

Chris: Is our textbook too popular? No way, we want it to become more and more popular.

Roza: You can never spend too much time with our textbook.

Practice 9:25

Chris: OK guys, here we are again, it’s practice time. So, it’s our second practice with into and this time we are going to focus on figurative uses, but don’t forget the basic image which implies some kind of movement, OK?

Roza: And remember to think in English. Let’s get into it.

Chris: “He’s grown into a fine young man.” You can feel the movement there, of course with growing, right? So, here we go again, “He’s grown into a fine young man.”

Roza: And a few more examples, “change into ~”, “put ~ into practice”, “burst into ~”, “translate ~ into English”, “Who talked you into doing such a thing?”

Chris: And a few more, “He needs to get into his studies more.” Right, you can feel the movement to the studies there, get into it, move into it, study a lot more. Once more then, “He needs to get into his studies more.” And another popular usage, “I’m really into yoga.”

OK, well done guys, great practice.

Roza: Fantastic.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey guys, what are you into these days?

Chris: Actually, I’m into experimenting with a variety of recipes. So, I’m spending time in the kitchen.

Roza: As for me, well, I’m into horses.

Ohnishi:

All: Bye.
