Opening

Ohnishi: 好きな人と南の島で生活。素晴らしい、素晴らしいですが、Good luck Doug. You’ll need it. 今後、うまくいくかどうか、分かりませんよ。

ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Good luck guys. You’ll need it, today’s lesson. Just kidding.

Chris: Hi guys. Chris McVay here. Roza, no, no, no, our programs are never boring. Don’t you agree?

Roza: Right.

Ohnishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

need, read, lead のどれかが難しい。

で、it = luck(幸運)が必要です、って言ってるみたいです。luck なくして幸せな生活は続かず・・・ということかな ^^

Practice 9:18

Chris: OK guys, it’s practice time. Today, let’s look at several expressions that you can use to say that the situation just mentioned doesn’t change the original situation.

Here we go,

  • Only a few people came. All the same, it was a successful event.

Let’s try that once more,

  • Only a few people came. All the same, it was a successful event.

So, there is no change, OK?

Roza: Next example,

  • I treat my wife like a princess. Still, she’s not satisfied.

Chris: Carrying on,

  • He’s still an excellent tennis player despite his age.

Roza: And our last example,

  • I’m happy you got a new job. Even so, I’m sad to see you leave the company.

Chris: Great, some of these are a little bit difficult but even so, we assure you’ve done a great job.

Roza: That’s right. You guys were excellent.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey Chris, you are still an excellent tennis player despite your age, right?

Chris: Well, I’m nowhere near as good as I was in my twenties, but I still enjoy playing a lot and have a reasonably good level.

Roza: Hey Sensei, you still act like a ten years old despite your age, huh?

Ohnishi: というわけで、今日はこの辺で。

All: Bye.
