Opening
Ohnishi: 鶴の恩返し、っていうお話、ありますよね。ぼくも最近、動物を助けて恩返しをされたんですよ。
Roza: 何もらったの?
Ohnishi: トンビを助けたから、乾いたトカゲ。
ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: うーん、乾いてないトカゲの方がいいんだよね。Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.
David: And I’m David Evans. All jokes aside, let’s get started, OK?
Ohnishi: さぁそれでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Practice 9:35
David: All right everyone. It’s time for the practice. Now, today’s lesson has lots of phrases that can sound confrontational or can be used normally. Also, many of these phrases mean the same thing, so, you can wonder which should I choose. My advice is to try them all and find one that feels like you. All right? so, let’s practice several together and see which you like best.
Roza: All right. Let’s begin.
David: Here we go.
- What’s wrong?
- What’s the matter?
- What happened?
- What’s going on?
Roza: OK, these next few examples are little bit stronger. Let’s try them together.
- What’s gotten into you?
- What has gotten into you?
- What has possessed you?
David: And here is a few more.
- Is something wrong?
- Is something the matter?
- Did something happen?
All right everyone. Good job with these.
Roza: Great job practicing.
Ending
Ohnishi: Hey Roza, what’s gotten into you? You are so kind to me today.
Roza: Oh, well, I’m just practicing.
Ohnishi: Practicing to be kind, right?
Roza: Right.
David: What goes around comes around.
Ohnishi: あ~、OK、というわけで、今日はこの辺で。
All: Bye.
因果応報ってやつですね。
