大西先生、クリスさん、ろーざさんの英会話部分を書きとってみましょう！（大西先生のギャグもできるだけ書きとります。）
Opening
Ohnishi: いやぁ昨日息子とジムに行ってですねぇ、係の男の子がイケメンだったんで「お兄さんイケメンですね」って言ったらですねぇ「息子さんの方がイケメンですよ」と言ってくれました。「ん？普通、そちらこそイケメンです」だよね・・・。なぜ、ぼくを通過した？！
ラジオ英会話ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Speaking of hot, it’s getting very hot these days. So, remember to drink lots of water.
Chris: Chris McVay here. Actually, could someone get me some water now, please? I have to remember to drink lots while recording.
Ohnishi: さぁそれでは、さっそく始めましょう。
“in the hospital” 3:25
Ohnishi: Chris, “in the hospital” or “in hospital”?
Chris: Of course, “in hospital” is better. No, basically, in British English we don’t use “the” for “in the hospital”.
Roza: In American English, you do use “the hospital”.
Chris: So, please take your pick.
Cobuild English Usage によると、病院の中にいることは英米で言い方が違うとありました。
- 英 in hospital
- 米 in the hospital
一方、病院で何かが起こることは、共通で at the hospital と言うそうです。

Ohnishi: Hey, what’s the image of “scorching”?
Roza: Well, for me it’s like the image of fire like a torch burning.
Chris: Hum, yeah, I imagine flames, you know, it’s such intense heat that the land shrivels up and flams are everywhere.
shrivel up で「干上がる」です。
知らない単語でしたが、音からつづりを予想しながら英辞郎でたどり着けました。

名詞と形容詞の語順はなかなか奥が深そうですね。
フランス語だと、一部の例外を除いて名詞が先で形容詞が後ろに付きます。
