Opening

Ohnishi: 小さなコンビニと大きなコンビニ。「小さい方に行ったんだよ。」「どこ?」「小さい方。」「あのさぁ、大きいとか小さいとかあなたの主観でしょ、分かんないわよ。」・・・今日も家族に叱られる講師の大西泰斗です。

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Let’s have fun.

Chris: Chris McVay here. Sorry, my stomach’s playing Tchaikovsky because I’m starving.

Ohnishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Roza: Look at that perfect resized new textbook. You should check it out.

Practice 10:57

Chris: OK guys, ready to practice? Today is a little bit difficult but I’m sure you will get there in the end.“Look at that huge old building”. We sometimes want to use two or more adjectives to describe something. But how do we know which order to put the adjectives. Basically, we put the most relevant adjective closet to the noun, so, in this case, the main focus is on the building’s age. So, we put the adjective “old” closest to the noun “building”. The size is less important here, so, “huge” is placed before “old”. So, with that in mind, let’s try this key sentence together. “Look at that huge old building”. Go?

Yes, “old” – “old” is the main point here, so, let’s try it again? “Look at that huge old building”.

Wonderful, well done.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey Chris, look at my old yellow fountain pen.

Chris: Yeah, that’s great. And look at my long blonde hair.

Roza: Oh, yes. That’s wonderful, Chris. Hey guys, look at my beautiful young face.

Chris: That’s a strange mirror, isn’t it?

・・・・

Ohnishi: というわけで、今回はこのへんで。

All: Bye!
