Opening
Ohnishi: Oh Jessica, I can see it coming.
Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.
Chris: Hi guys. Chris McVay here. I hope you’ll find today’s lesson interesting.
Roza: Of course, they will, Chris.
Ohnishi:

Practice 9:30
Chris: OK, are you ready for today’s practice? Now, today I want you just to imagine a big, big question mark in your head. The thing is, you don’t know something but want to know it, and therefor you ask yourself your question. And that’s the basic image of wonder. So, let’s practice together. Here we go, “I wonder who that woman is.”
OK, and a slight variation, “I’m wondering who that woman is.”
Roza: “I was wondering if you could help me.”
Do you feel that distance the politeness there? “I was wondering if you could help me.”
Chris: OK, keep going, “I was wondering if you’d like to ~”.
OK, so you don’t know, but you want to know, and that’s where the wonder comes in. Once more after me, “I was wondering if you’d like to ~”.
Roza: And a couple more, “I wonder why ~”, “no wonder~”.
Chris: No wonder they are making progress, are you, Roza?
Roza: Well, they are listeners of Radio Eikaiwa after all.
Chris: That’s right.
Ending
Ohnishi: I want to know why Jessica is so interested in Professor Peacock.
Chris: Well, it’s pretty obvious, isn’t it? She has a big crash on him. Don’t you think so, Roza?
Roza: I think it’s because he has so much life experience.
Ohnishi: Like me, huh?
All: Bye!
