Opening

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here.

Chris: Hi guys, Chris McVay here. Question Roza.

Roza: Yes.

Chris: Is there anything we can do to make this program better?

Roza: Well, I would say just be yourself, Chris.

Chris: Oh, such wonderful advice.

Roza: Hey guys, make sure to check out our textbook. You are likely to improve your English if you do.

Chris & Ohnishi: Do you really think so?

Roza: I’m almost certain they will.

Practice 9:45

Chris: OK guys, it’s practice time. And today, we are looking at the wonderful combination of probability – to, that combination. Are you ready?

Roza: And remember guys, think in English.

Chris: Here we go, “It’s likely to rain.” “She’s unlikely to win.” “She seems likely to win.” “She looks likely to win.”

Roza: Continuing on, “She is sure to succeed.” Let’s try that one more time, “She is sure to succeed.”

Chris: OK, a  couple more, “David is certain to come.” So, you can feel the flow there of probability …. plus to come. “David is certain to come.” And the last one, “I’m almost certain you will.” “I’m almost sure you will.”

Roza: Excellent work, guys.

Chris: Yeah, I’m almost sure they’d made good progress here.

Ending

Ohnishi: I’m forgetful, these days.

Chris & Roza: Lucky.

Chris: But I haven’t forgotten that I lent you guys two hundred yen last week.

Roza: Huh ….

Chris: Unlucky.

Roza: Unlucky, that’s right.

Ohnishi:

All: Bye.
