Opening
Roza: That sounds good, how about some coffee? This is Akino Roza.
David: And I’m David Evans. Let’s get started.
Ohnishi:
Practice 9:20
Roza: OK everyone, are you ready to practice? For today’s practice, we want to keep in mind the equality between the 目的語 and the 説明語句, so my steak イコール medium rare. OK, so keep that feeling in mind as we practice.
David: That’s right. Let’s get to it.
Roza: Repeat after me. My coffee – black … my coffee – black … all together.
- I prefer my coffee black.
David: OK, let’s keep going. It – easy … it – easy …
- Take it easy.
Roza: OK, here is the last one. My eggs – on a separate plate … my eggs – on a separate plate … all together.
- I’d like my eggs on a separate plate, please.
One more time.
- I’d like my eggs on a separate plate, please.
David: Unlock your potential.
Roza: Repetition is the key.
Both: Great work.
Grammar in Action
I like hotdog plain. I don’t like this with mustard and ketchup.
うーん、イマイチですなぁ ^^;
Take it easy. Let’s meet you after (時間切れ)
Please place your report on my desk first thing tomorrow morning.
Ending
Ohnishi: Hey David, why do you want your eggs on a separate?
David: Ah huh, some people are very sensitive to flavors mixing, so maybe you have eggs on one plate and pancakes on another, they just don’t want their flavors or foods to mix.
Ohnishi: Uh ha …
Roza: Usually I don’t like mixing my food, but pancakes and eggs is the only exception, and bacon of course.
All: Bye.
