Roza: Hey everyone. Welcome back. It's Akino Roza and it's time to review.

David: That's right everyone. It's review day. I'm excited, oh, and I'm David Evans.

Onishi:

Listening Challenge
Monday

David: OK, let's review this week's dialogs.

Roza: Listen to the questions and pick which one of the three options is the correct answer.

David: Let's start with Monday's dialog.

Roza: OK guys, here is the question.

What is Barbara's decision?

  1. To start her won business.
  2. To not work with Daiki.
  3. To give advice to people.

Here we go.

Did you get that? Let's check out the question one more time.

Tuesday

David: OK, let's move on to Tuesday's dialog. Here is the question.

Which of the following is true?

  1. The statue looks like Roxy.
  2. The AI suggested that the professor become a writer.
  3. The professor doesn't like Jane Austin.

Listen up.

All right, let's check out the question one more time.

Wednesday

Roza: OK, moving on, it's Wednesday's dialog. Here is the question.

  1. He often falls down.
  2. He is sometimes unrealistic.
  3. He talks in the theater during movies.

Here we go.

How did you do? Let's go over the question one more time.

Thursday

  1. Chicken balls.
  2. Fried chickpeas.
  3. Burnt vegetables.

Here we go.

All right, did you get that? Let's check out the question one more time.

Say It in English

Roza: OK, here is the situation.

I'm just looking. But, do you have any information about new Hiroko Hiroko jacket?

I have come across this on a fashion magazine and this was fantastic.

  • "I'm just looking."
  • "new Hiroko Hiroko jacket"
  • "on a fashion magazine"
    → 正しくは "in a fashion magazine"(雑誌の中で)。
  • "this was fantastic"

David: All right, let's move on to the next situation. Imagine this.

Hum, this milk tastes strange. Let me see the milk carton.

Wow, the expiration date is set at 2 weeks ago this is because the taste is strange. I will buy a new one.

  • "the expiration date is set at 2 weeks ago" → 不自然。正しくは "the expiration date was two weeks ago"。
  • "this is because the taste is strange" → 英語らしくは "No wonder it tastes strange."
Ending

Onishi: Hey guys, we all should be careful about expiration date, right?

David: Yeah, that is true. Food poisoning is no laughing matter.

Onishi: Oh, yeah, that's right.

Roza: And remember, always trust your smell. If it smells funny, through throw it away even if it's before the expiration date.

All: Bye.

→ we all should ~ ですね。
