Opening

Ohnishi: ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。

さぁ今日も頑張っていきますよ。

Roza: Hi guys. Akino Roza here. Are you ready for today’s lesson?

Chris: Hello everyone. I’m Chris McVay. Let’s enjoy our English practice together.

Ohnishi: さぁそれでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

ダイアログ和訳の後 3:53

Roza: Hey guys, don’t you know how popular our textbook is? If you haven’t already, you should check it out.

Practice 9:40

Chris: OK guys, let’s practice. Well, today we are looking at behind. This again is very easy so, what we want to do is look at physical examples first, and then move on to more and more figurative examples. OK? Let’s begin.

Roza: And remember to think in English.

Chris: OK, here is a physical example, “She was standing behind the wall.” “She was standing behind me.” OK, very easy to understand, right?

Roza: “I’m way behind schedule.” “He’s behind with his work.” “behind time”.

Chris: OK, a few more, “behind the scenes”, “behind her smile”, “behind her change of attitude”. Right, you get the feeling there? Something is hidden, behind the change of attitude, some reason is there. And another one which I like a lot, “Stop talking behind my back.”

Roza: OK, and for our last example, “We’re 100% behind the new CEO’s plan.” Let’s try this one again, “We’re 100% behind the new CEO’s plan.”

Chris: Great.

Roza: Excellent work.

Chris: And we are a 100% behind our listeners.

Roza: That’s right.

Ending

Ohnishi: Hey guys, behind the curtain is the scariest place in a house, isn’t it?

Chris: Well, I hate enclosed spaces, so for me, a closet is a much scarier place.

Roza: Sensei, I would think for you, the bathroom would be the scariest place in the house because it has a mirror.

Ohnishi: ということで終わりにしていいですか、もう僕終わりたいんで。

All: Bye.

scary の比較級と最上級ですね。ツィッターで教えてもらいました。
