Opening
Ohnishi: 財布に優しいラジオ英会話星占い。今日最高にいい運勢のあなたはいて座のあなた、ラッキーアイテムは・・・
Roza: アイテムは・・・
Ohnishi: 水。
ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. Let’s get started.
Chris: Chris McVay here. I think your openings are dark and out of focus.
Ohnishi: さぁそれでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。
ダイアログ和訳の後 4:20
Chris: Well, one thing’s for sure, none of the contents of our textbook are out of focus or disappointing. So, stick with it.
何で one things for sure なのかと思ってたら、one thing’s for sure = one thing is for sure = 一つだけ確かなことがあります、ということらしい。
ツィッターで教えてもらって、調べてみました。
Practice 10:30
Chris: Practice, practice, practice time, are your ready? OK, once again with’s image is togetherness. So, it’s a logical extension to talk about tools, or materials which are used to do or make something. OK so, that’s today’s focus. Here we go.
Roza: And remember, to think in English.
Chris: “eat fish with chopsticks”, now you have a tool, and you use it to eat fish. That’s all. And the next one, “strike the nail with a hammer”, “paint with a brush”, “write with a pen”, “is made with recycled paper”, “is covered with snow”. And the last one, “is filled with anxiety”.
Roza: Let’s continue with some more examples, “help Mom with the housework”, “provide people with food”, “charge him with fraud”.
Chris: And the last section, “have words with ~”, “I’m happy with your work.” “Don’t speak with your mouth full.” “He’s off work with a cold.”
Great job.
Roza: That was excellent.

Ending
Ohnishi: Hey Chris, what do you make with a food processor?
Chris: Well actually, I’ve bought one. I didn’t use it before but it’s fantastic for grating carrots, and it saves you lots of time and energy.
Roza: Aww …, クリスの料理食べたいなぁ。
Ohnishi: ぼくも。
Chris: OK, I’ll make a carrot cake.
Ohnishi: というわけで今日はこの辺で。
All: Bye.
