Ohnishi: 「この世は勝利がすべてだ。勝者はすべてが肯定され、敗者はすべて否定される。僕は今まであらゆることで負けたことがないし、この先もない。すべてに勝つ僕はすべて正しい。」こんなに長いセリフを詰まらずに言える人は、ドラマの中にしかいません。

Roza: Hey everyone. Akino Roza here. ねぇ先生、でも、昨日じゃんけんで負けたよね。

Ohnishi: その通り・・・

David: And I’m David Evans. OK guys, let’s get started.

Ohnishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。

Roza: And you also could say, “uh …” or “um …” instead of “er …”. So, you have several options.

David: OK guys. Let’s practice together. These phrases are very useful to buy time, so it’s good to have them in your pocket.

Here is the first one.

• Her name was … er Hanako, right?

Let’s try a different one.

• Her name was … uh Hanako, right?

Roza: Let’s continue.

• I can’t remember … oh, it was Lucy, wasn’t it?

David: You are doing great. Don’t try too hard, relax. Let’s continue.

• Well, her cooking is good but … I mean, it’s not restaurant level.

Roza: I really like this next one. Let’s try together.

• Let me see … How can I put it?

And another variation.

• Let’s see … How can I put it?

David: All right. Here is one more. Let’s try two patterns, the short version and the long version.

• There’s a gas station about, I dunno, ten or so minutes from here.
• There’s a gas station about, I don’t know, ten or so minutes from here.

Roza: You guys were … how can I put it? … absolutely wonderful.

David: It was … I don’t know, really good.
