Opening
Ohnishi: サイギマン参上。いや私はですね、収録の時にスタジオのみんなのためにですね、お菓子をたっくさん買っていくことが多いんですけれども、コンビニの店員さんに「毎週こんなに食べるからそんなになっちゃうんだね」と思われてるような気がしてなりません。
ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。
Roza: Hello everyone, this is Akino Roza … now, Barbara.
David: And I’m David Evans. You know, they say “No one knows you better than the clerks at the supermarket”.
Ohnishi: というわけで、さっそく始めていきましょう。

David: OK, it’s time for today’s practice. Being confused is a normal reaction, so let’s practice how to express our confusion. Here we go.

David: All right, and here is a few more.
- My thinking is messed up.
- The situation has me messed up.
- I can’t make heads or tails of this.
- My mind is all over the place.

Roza: Excellent.
Ending
Ohnishi: Wait, I’m confused. It sounds like you want to go have lunch without me.
David: I’m hesitant to tell the truth, I don’t want to hurt your feelings, but yes, that’s the just gist of it.
Roza: Ah, I can’t make heads or tails of this conversation. What are you guys asking me to do?
Ohnishi: さ、いろいろ表現が出てきましたね、しっかりと覚えておいてください。というわけで、今日はこれくらいにしておきましょう。
All: Bye.
ここ、合ってるかなぁ。「ただ、それだけです」みたいな意味かなと。→ That’s the gist of it で「要点はそんなところです」という意味なんですね。
