Opening
Ohnishi: ラジオ英会話、ハートでつかめ英語の極意、講師の大西泰斗です。さぁがんばっていきましょう。
Roza: Hey everyone. This is Akino Roza. How does it feel to be back here?
David: And I’m David Evans. It feels great for me. がんばっていきましょう。
Ohnishi: それでは、さっそく始めていきましょう。
Practice 9:08
Roza: OK everyone. It’s time to practice. The key point to remember here is that anything that’s put into position of a verb becomes a verb. All right? So, keep that in mind and let’s practice?
David: Here we go.
Roza:
- I watered the plant.
David: OK, here is our next.
- She phoned my parents.
Roza: Keep going.
- Don’t sir me.
- Don’t ma’am me.
- Don’t madam me.
David: All right and let’s go one more.
- I muscled my suitcase shut.
David: Unlock your potential.
Roza: Repetition is the key.
Both: Great work.
Grammar in Action
気が向いたときに・・・これはディクテーションじゃなくて、自分の答えです。金曜日と違って文が短いので、だいたい時間内に書けます。^^
I’ll text you later. We can schedule this week end, right?
schedule を動詞にしてみました。辞書見ると、be scheduled ~ のようにするのが通常の使い方、のようです。
Did you water the roses? These are a bit droopy.
まぁまぁかな
Don’t call me ma’am. I’m 25 years old and too young to be called so.
Don’t ma’am me だった。さっき出てきたばっかりなのに ^^
